Today is my birthday! There are many things I've learned this year and many experiences I've enjoyed. In no particular order, here's a brief list:
- Joy is found in the little things.
- Fifteen minute makeup looks almost identical to five minute makeup, and the ten minutes saved will make all the difference to your husband.
- Boys like trucks.
- Babies cry, and it's okay to let them cry.
- M&M's fix everything.
- Pedicures are way overrated, but eyebrow waxing is worth every penny.
- Ironing jeans is not always necessary.
- Kids eat sand and then you have to change sandy diapers.
- There's nothing wrong with going to bed earlier than your spouse.
- House hunting is fun for adults, not so much for young kids.
- Loss is difficult, but gradually the pain starts to fade (I miss you little lentil).
- It's hard to be selfish when you take care of others.
- Communication is key in any relationship.
- Friends are found in unexpected places.
- Never let your husband dare you into cutting your hair off.
- It takes a long time for hair to grow.
- You can never take too many photos.
- I can eat whatever I want.
- Bronx Pizza is the best in San Diego
- I can run a half marathon.
- Bodies change after having babies, but the change is worth it.
- There's nothing sweeter than a sleeping baby.

Asleep on the Sand
Yesterday my little one feel asleep on the beach watching the waves wash in and out. He's up and moving and keeping me young!
XOXO,
Aspen

Happy Birthday! What great lessons to learn. It's amazing how much having a baby changes life and your outlook on so many things.
I'm glad to know that someone else irons jeans too.
