It's been three months since my last post. I consider this slacking. Okay, I said it, I am a blog slacker. But, we've been a very busy family.

Emron's First Christmas.
I had wonderful holidays. Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years were filled with good food, good friends and indescribable joy. Since Emron was born we've (Murry and I) felt our family has become more complete, the holidays highlighted this fact. We enjoyed each other and the festivities of each holiday, but I don't want to write too much about the holidays as they happened awhile ago. Suffice to say, we had a great time!
Last weekend I ran my first half marathon. I was supposed to run my first one in August 2006, but about a week before the race I found out I was pregnant and I didn't want to risk anything with a little, tiny baby in my tummy. Anyway after Emron was born I started working out again, slowly but steadily and finally decided in October that I was ready to run a race. I chose to run in the Surf City USA Half Marathon. The race was February 1st, in Huntington Beach, CA. My time was very close to my goal of 1:45. I ran 1:46.44 or about 8:08 minute miles. Not too bad for a newbie. I placed 53 in my division out of about 1200 runners. It was a tough but rewarding event. As I ran the final four miles basking (probably not the correct adjective) in the sun with the ocean waves to my right I wanted to quit, but I had trained for this event and my family had made sacrifices for me to be running so I just kept going as I sang "Put Your Shoulder to the Wheel" in my head. As I crossed the finish line the announcer said my name and I looked over to see Murry and Emron and I couldn't help but cry! It was a definitely a mommy moment.

Onesie I made for Karlie.
Last weekend I threw a baby shower for my dear friend Karlie. The shower went well and she seemed to like her gifts. We had a good time, but I have to brag now about my husband. As if wrangling the baby the previous weekend while I ran wasn't enough, Murry took on a lot of responsibility with the shower. He helped me make food, watched the baby, ran errands, bought balloons, and knowing that I was stressed brought home flowers to make me smile. He is such a great partner. The past few weekends have really illustrated how well we work together and how much we love each other. I am so grateful for him and for all that he does.
Anyway, I'm going to try to get a few things done while Mr. E is napping. Oh, and it looks like he is cutting at least two, maybe four teeth. Poor guy! Last night he was running a temperature of 101.7! I love my boys!
